KONA IP25 delivers the power, quality, reliability, and ease of use of the KONA family to support your transitions from SDI to SMPTE ST 2110 workflows. The KONA IP25 is an 8-lane PCIe Gen 4.0, SMPTE ST 2110 IP I/O card supporting bidirectional uncompressed video. KONA IP25 has two SFP cages that support 10 and 25 Gigabit Ethernet (10/25 GigE) SFPs and also includes a 1 GigE RJ-45 connector.
The KONA IP25 is your complete solution for SMPTE ST 2110 processing with onboard PTP and NMOS control. To your computer, the KONA IP25 appears as any other KONA card which carries the control load, so it’s not placed on the host PC. ST 2110 Configuration and Control is supported by both In-Band (media network via SFPs) and Out-of-Band (control network via RJ-45).
On the desktop, KONA IP25 transparently supports Apple® Final Cut Pro, Adobe® Premiere® Pro CC, Avid® Media Composer®, AJA Control Room, OBS, and other leading editorial, effects, and production tools via AJA’s robust and feature-rich Desktop Software.
For creative users, the operational experience of using your favorite creative tool remains unchanged, and with AJA Control Panel additions to set up capture and playout, you are assured to have a seamless expansion into ST 2110.
For Developers, the same AJA SDK used for baseband KONA I/O cards is also used for KONA IP25, offering an easy way to develop applications and create systems for SMPTE ST 2110 workflows.

KONA IP 25 supports leading NLE, compositing, and streaming applications via our industry’s best plug-ins and the AJA software you rely on, including AJA Control Room, a standalone application for capture and playout, and AJA Control Panel for I/O configuration and control.
Throughput
KONA IP25 supports multiple ST 2110 uncompressed video streams, up to UltraHD 59.94/60 over IP via dual 25 GigE SFP cages. This is complemented by support for up to 16-channels of audio and ancillary data.
Complete Control
All SMPTE ST 2110 configuration, control, and timing functions (NMOS and PTPv2) are handled on the KONA IP25, independent of the host computer with configuration and control options for either In-Band (media network via SFPs) or Out-of-Band (control network via RJ-45) capability.
NMOS enables discovery, registration, and control within software defined video networking environments via IS-04 and IS-05.

Further, the KONA IP25 supports ST 2022-7 for both Rx and Tx via the dual 25G SFPs to provide hitless redundancy and ensure peace of mind for broadcast ingest and playout scenarios.
AJA Developer SDK
Developers who wish to use AJA’s world class SDK (Software Development Kit) can choose between two different methods to gain access and start putting their creativity to work with this rich, deep, and powerful set of video technologies. AJA’s SDK is available on Windows, Linux, and macOS, including support for the latest Apple silicon.
For the quickest and easiest way to get up and running with the core AJA SDK, we recommend the AJA Open Source Developer path, which is under the MIT license and hosted via GitLab.
For access to the AJA SDK, including AJA proprietary technologies and world class support, we recommend the AJA Developer Program path. This is accessed via the dedicated AJA SDK Developer page and requires a signed agreement.
It is entirely possible for a developer to begin on the AJA Open Source Developer path, and, if necessary, in the future, apply to enroll in the AJA Developer Program path.
HDR NLE / VFX Software Support
Desktop Software supports HDR across many third-party professional video software applications, including Adobe Premiere Pro, Apple Final Cut Pro, and Avid Media Composer. Take advantage of SDR/HDR Transfer Characteristics, Colorimetry, and Luminance via the SDP file.
Apple silicon Support
AJA Desktop Software is optimized for the latest Apple silicon with native support for AJA macOS drivers, application plug-ins, AJA Control Room, AJA Control Panel, and AJA System Test.
Apple Mac Pro Compatible
AJA offers full compatibility for the new Apple Mac Pro, including support for AJA Control Room with Metal compatibility and extensive support for various applications. KONA IP25 Operating Systems Compatibilities
AJA Desktop Software supports Macs with both Intel processors and Apple silicon running macOS 13.x (Ventura) or later. It also supports older versions of macOS with Intel processors, from macOS 11.x (Big Sur). Supported OS’ are:

Live Graphics Insertion
KONA IP25 keyer overlays foreground over background. Depicted here, an ST 2110 source is used as background, and server playout is used as foreground (such as a weather widget or news banner). Another method is to overlay an ST 2110 foreground over an ST 2110 background.
