Teradek is packing professional network bonding into their high performance Link WiFi access point, giving broadcasters, production companies, and first responders reliable, high speed internet access wherever they go.
Link Pro Radome is a high throughput, dual-band WiFi access point with a 1000 ft. range and the very same bonding technology found in Teradek’s powerful Bond series of video transmission devices. What sets Link Pro apart is its ability to offer reliable network connectivity by aggregating bandwidth from 4x 3G / 4G / LTE modems, allowing anybody to surf the web, check their email, upload files, or even stream live video online from areas they otherwise couldn’t before.
Link Pro isn’t just a powerful access point, it is also incredibly durable and power efficient. Its super rugged aluminium chassis is designed to withstand the rigours of constant use in production environments, natural disaster zones, and inclement weather and its Gold or V-mount battery plate ensures you’re up and running for long periods of time while you’re mobile.
Link Pro includes two gigabit Ethernet ports, 4 locking connectors for Teradek’s Node LTE modems (USB to 4-pin connector cables available for standard modems), and a 2-pin locking connector for AC power.
To enable bonding, a subscription to Teradek’s Core service is required.
Link is a ruggedised dual band WiFi router. Designed for use in broadcast and cinema applications, Link offers incredible range, several power options and a chassis suitable for regular abuse in the field and on set.
Dual Band 2.4 / 5 GHz | 802.11ac WiFi – Link supports the latest in WiFi standards and is backward compatible with 802.11 a/b/g/n.
Long Range Coverage – With 1000ft of range, Link offers enough WiFi coverage to blanket most medium sized venues. Devices like the Serv Pro have a built-in range of 300 ft., meaning iOS devices need to remain close by to monitor the shot. With Link, ranges on all of your on-set wireless devices get extended to 1000 ft., giving you maximum mobility to capture that perfect shot.
Extra Range with Link to Link – Multiple Link devices can now be used together to extend the range of your WiFi network (regardless of whether you have Internet or not). This means you can place Links in far off corners of your set and have them blanket the entire area with a quick and reliable WiFi connection.
The 1st Link acts as your hub (we’ll call it your Master Link). Your 2nd Link must be set to Client mode, allowing it to connect to the 1st Link. The wireless network established by your Master Link is now extended to your Client Link, so devices on one end can talk to devices on the other. In essence, this is roughly the same concept as bridging your home WiFi with two routers.
With the new Link to Link extension, you can connect multiple Links to the Master Link, or daisy-chain them to cover more distance. This feature is perfect for multi-cam film productions, sports games, interactive marketing activation’s, and any other occasion that requires large areas to be connected on the same bulletproof WiFi network. Whether you’re passing live video from Cube Encoder to Decoder on a football field, or monitoring multiple cameras on your iPad with Serv Pro far from the action, Link’s latest firmware upgrade keeps you connected no matter how large the venue.
High Throughput and Interference Resistant – Link’s quad core processor and significant internal memory ensure high data throughput despite numerous clients utilising the network at once. Compared to typical consumer access points, Link offers optimised buffering and packet re-transmission, allowing you to maintain a consistent connection even in tough RF environments.
Super Rugged and Flexible Mounting – Link’s aluminium chassis allows it to withstand the daily abuse common in production environments or in the field. With several ¼”-20 mounts, the device can easily be mounted onto light stands, DIT carts, or OB vans.
External Battery Connection – Choose between a V-mount or 3-stud battery adaptor to power Link for extended periods of time in the field.
PoE Power – Link’s passive PoE connection allows the system to be powered in line with the Teradek Sphere or any other PoE injector for a more streamlined setup on set.
Network Security – Link offers standard WiFi network protection, including WEP, WPA, and WPA2 security.
